📧 New: Custom EDM Sender Information
Merchants can now set a dedicated EDM sender name and sender address, allowing marketing emails to be sent using a familiar name and dedicated sender address. This makes it easier for diners to recognize the source of the emails while enhancing the merchant’s brand professionalism and customer trust.
The sender address currently needs to be configured with assistance from inline and cannot be modified directly by merchants. If you would like to set up a custom sender address, please contact our Customer Support team or your Account Manager, and we’ll assist you with the application and setup process.

🍽️ Added Default Party Size Setting and Change Date/Party Size Recommendation
Backhouse now supports configuring a branch’s Default Party Size, allowing patrons to start the booking flow with the party size set by the merchant. Merchants can set up the default party size directly in Backhouse. The configured party size must fall within the branch’s current group size limit:
When there are no available time slots on the selected date, but the same pax size is still available on other dates, the system will recommend Book for Other Dates.
If there are no available tables for the selected pax size, but tables are still available for other pax sizes, the system will display Change the available party size, helping patrons quickly find available booking options.
Additionally, the Table Tag selection on the online booking page has been changed from a dropdown menu to a clearer choice-based interface, allowing patrons to select their preferred type of table based on their needs.

📩 Marketing SMS Opt-out Now Available for a Better Customer Experience
The Marketing SMS Opt-out feature is now available. Merchants can enable or disable the company-level SMS opt-out mechanism based on their needs. When enabled, the system will automatically add opt-out instructions to marketing SMS messages based on SMS provider and language settings, exclude opted-out customers from future campaigns, and process STOP replies automatically.
Merchants can also review opt-out guidelines, select message languages, and check recipient counts and estimated SMS credits before sending, improving compliance and campaign management efficiency.
A new toggle has been added to the Marketing Notification settings in the admin portal, allowing merchants to enable or disable the SMS opt-out feature as needed. When enabled, all marketing SMS messages will include opt-out instructions, and customers can unsubscribe by replying STOP.
The system will automatically display the appropriate opt-out message based on the country code of the recipients' phone numbers. Merchants can switch between different country code versions of the opt-out message using the menu on the right.

📣 Feature Enhancement: Expand Google Reservation Reach by Supporting Pre-order & Experience Restaurants
Removed the restriction in the Google Reserve button onboarding process. Restaurants using Pre-order or Experience can now also join, allowing businesses that previously could not gain exposure through Google to appear in Google Search and booking entry points, increasing brand visibility and customer acquisition opportunities.
When customers select time slots that require Pre-order or Experience, the system will display a redirect icon and automatically carry over booking details, including date, party size, and table tags, to the inline booking page, allowing customers to seamlessly complete the remaining booking process
